Stellar line up for Century Motorsport in the PCCGB

Century motorsport announce an exciting four car entry in to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB for the 2023 season. After their incredibly successful first season last year with Rosland Gold Racing, Century Motorsport will be adding a further three Porsche 911 GT3’s to challenge the championship title this season.

Following their success together last year, PCCGB Rookie Champion Gus Burton will be returning to the Rosland Gold Racing by Century team for his second season. After taking home the Rookie trophy in 2022, Burton is ready to contend the championship title this year in the Pro category. The 20 year old from Essex has had an impressive career so far, winning the overall and silver/silver drivers champions in his debut entry to British GT in 2021 with Century Motorsport, having previously come second overall in the Ginetta SuperCup GT4.

“Last year was a promising year for Century and myself with wins, podiums and pole positions but there were lessons to be learnt for myself and the team. We’re going into this season with more drivers, more knowledge and more hunger than ever. There’s one goal this year and I’m confident we now have the perfect recipe to deliver.”

James Kellett will be racing with the Rosland Gold Racing team again this year, but making the move from a Ginetta G56 GT4 to the Porsche 911 GT3. After an amazing record breaking season last year in the Ginetta SuperCup, taking home the championship title and stepping on the podium an incredible 17 times, Kellett is looking to challenge for wins straight away in the Porsche Carrera Cup.

“2023 will definitely be a year to remember! Announcing I’m racing a Porsche has always been a dream for me and I finally get to say it’s happening. Following the season in 2022, I’m very grateful to be continuing my partnership with Century Motorpsort and Rosland Gold Racing for this year and I’m excited to see where this new challenge goes.”

Dominos Pizza owner, Henry Dawes will be continuing his journey with Century Motorsport for a third year and also taking the leap from a Ginetta G56 to the Porsche GT3 Cup. Dawes had his most successful year so far with the team last year, which saw him stepping on the podium three times in the Ginetta SuperCup and coming fourth in the GT4 class. The Scotsman also had his debut outing in the BMW M4 GT3 in British GT and got the car its first podium of the season at Brands Hatch.

"I'm very much looking forward to another year with Century Motorsport and competing in the pinnacle of one design racing in the UK with Porsche."

Completing the line up is Angus Whiteside, new to the Century team but in his second season in the Porsche Carrera Cup in the pro-am class. Whiteside kicked off his full time racing career just three years ago in 2021 where, in his first season of racing, he took home the Rookie Championship of the Ginetta GT Academy. Last year he moved up to the PCCGB pro am class, which resulted in a spectacular achievement of him coming in third place at the end of the season.

“Very happy to be with Nathan and all involved at Century Motorsport for 2023. I was very impressed with what they managed to achieve last year with only having a single car team. I already have a great relationship with Gus as we have started training together, and I have been friendly with Nathan for 2 years now. It’s all positive! I am sure to benefit from the professionalism of the team and hope to give something back in return. 2023 is going to be great!”

Stuart Kinner, MD at Rosland Gold, says; "After such a successful season last year with Gus Burton being Rookie Champion in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and James Kellett literally running away with the Ginetta GT4 Supercup G56 Pro Championship with record breaking results, it gives us great excitement and pleasure to have James joining Gus on the Porsche Carrera Cup grid this season also in the Rosland Gold Racing colours.

“Having such talent driving for the Rosland Gold team makes us very proud, and with the experience of Century Motorsport to run operations we are hoping for another successful season this year. With some stiff competition in the Carrera Cup series it is definitely going to be an exciting season.”

“Speaking with the team we all agreed it will be a thoroughly enjoyable occasion when we see the two Rosland Gold wrapped Porsches both on the starting grid in the first race at Donington Park in April. All of us at Rosland Gold are so looking forward to this coming season - it's sure to be so enjoyable and a real spectacle for us all. We wish both Gus and James the very best for this season, and wish all at the ever progressing Century Motorsport the success they deserve as well."

Nathan Freke, Team Principal “It’s amazing to be going into 2023 with a 4 car team. Last year was our first year with Porsche and we came away with a rookie championship and had a great experience along the way.”

“This year we have a super strong team and we are ready for the challenge. The continuation of Rosland Gold Racing by Century with Gus and James is going to be a force to be reckoned with. Both of them are at the top of their game, with Gus the current PCCGB rookie champion and James winning the Ginetta championship last year, we have a goal of challenging for both driver and team championship. We are extremely thankful to Stuart and the team for their continued support.”

“It’s great to welcome back Henry for his third season with the team. He’s such a big character in the paddock and a joy to work with. His dominos livery always brings huge attention to the awning. Lastly, but very not least, it’s a pleasure to welcome Angus to the team. We have known each other a couple of years and came close to working together last year, so it’s nice to finally get the opportunity. I know he will be a great addition to an already great team of drivers.”

“We are relishing the challenge and we really feel like we are part of the Porsche family now. 2022 was a great year for our Carrera cup campaign and we are determined to make 2023 even better!”

The Porsche Carrera Cup GB starts the 22nd of April at Donington Park.
