Dubai 24 Hour Race – Rosland Gold Was There!
It was the Dubai 24 hour endurance race this last weekend, in which Century Motorsport had two entries in. Century look after Rosland Gold Racing, so it was something Rosland wanted to be involved with. Off we went, knowing it would be a tad different to the 30-minute sprint racing we are usually watching! It was a very good experience for everyone involved. And it was nicer weather than London too!
There were some 58 entries to the race, with 5 or 6 different classes of car. Rosland Gold sponsored a BMW M4 GT4 class car, which finished 3rd in Class. A fantastic drive by the guys. A very tiring weekend saw many cars retire, including the other Century run car, also a BMW M4 GT4 Class. That had a serious issue – with the subframe failing. Being a 6 or 7 hour fix it was decided to retire the car.
A gruelling race, with numerous pit stops required for fuel and driver changes. It was a pleasure to watch the Century Motorsport engineers and pit crew in action all through the night as the cars came in for attention.
It really was a different type of racing to the Porsche Carrera Cup sprint racing that Rosland Gold is involved with, but what a great experience. A truly fantastic weekend.
