PORSCHE CARRERA CUP 2025 PRO CHAMPION - ANDREW RACKSTRAW

Andrew Rackstraw has been crowned the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Champion after a dramatic season finale at Brands Hatch, securing the title by just two points following a very close championship battle!

The Rosland Gold by Century Motorsport driver arrived at Brands Hatch knowing that every position, every point and every lap could determine the outcome of the championship. With only Eden Motorsport's Will Martin still in contention for the Pro class crown, the stage was set for a tense and unforgettable final weekend.

Rackstraw entered the concluding double-header holding a slender advantage in the standings, but with the championship battle so tight, there was no room for error.

The opening race of the weekend saw Rackstraw immediately take the fight to his title rival. Among the frontrunners throughout, the South African racer demonstrated the determination that had defined his season, engaging in a series of intense battles with Martin and the leading pack. Despite fierce competition, Rackstraw crossed the line in fourth position, preserving a crucial championship advantage heading into the title-deciding final race.

With the series' reverse-grid format adding another layer of unpredictability for the final encounter, Rackstraw faced one last challenge in his pursuit of championship glory.

As the lights went out for Race 16, Max Coates led the field into the opening corner while Rackstraw and Martin immediately found themselves locked in a battle for position. The pressure intensified throughout the race as positions changed and championship calculations fluctuated lap by lap.

Midway through the contest, Rackstraw came under sustained pressure and briefly slipped down the order as rivals capitalised on a small loss of momentum. With penalties and position changes elsewhere in the field affecting the live standings, the championship margin narrowed to the finest of margins, leaving Rackstraw with little room for further setbacks.

However, in the defining moments of the season, the Century Motorsport driver delivered exactly what was required. Remaining composed under immense pressure, Rackstraw managed the race expertly, avoiding mistakes while maintaining the pace needed to keep his championship hopes alive.

When the chequered flag fell, Rackstraw finished fourth overall - enough to secure the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup GB title by just two points.

The championship triumph was built on remarkable consistency across the season. Over 16 races, Rackstraw scored points in every event, overcoming grid reversals, intense wheel-to-wheel battles and relentless pressure from his rivals. While victories and podiums played their part, it was his ability to consistently deliver strong results and avoid costly errors that ultimately proved decisive.

As celebrations begin, Andrew Rackstraw's name is now etched into Porsche Carrera Cup GB history as the 2025 champion - a title earned through determination, consistency and a championship-winning performance under pressure. Well done!
