Fast Weekend at Thruxton

Rounds 5 & 6 of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB took us to the fastest track in Europe - Thruxton. 2.4 miles and 11 corners. This track is notoriously hard to overtake on - giving us some very fast and skilled racing. The weekend produced some silverware and some podium celebrations too!

Qualifying on Saturday started with disappointment. Will Burns had his hot qualifying laps hindered. He was unable to get some fast qualifying times due to other cars hindering his racing line. Qualifying finished with Burns securing P19 and Gamble securing P2.

Onto Sunday race day. After a frustrating qualifying session, Burns demonstrated some excellent driving finishing Race One in P17 - P11 in class. Race two produced more success with Burns gaining two places, finishing P14 - P10 in class.

George Gamble extended his silverware collection with two P2 finishes! Gamble followed Will Martin home in Race 1 for second place. Race Two contained a reverse grid format - whereby Gamble did well to finish P2 again after working his way through the grid. He was unlucky not to win, coming home second behind Andrew Rackstraw, but still some well earned trophies and points.

The next race weekend takes us to Croft at the end of July for Rounds 7 & 8 where hopefully we add to our trophy collection!
