The Tudor Beasts series pays tribute to the ten stone beasts that line the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court Palace.
The latest release of The Royal Tudor Beasts Collection shows the Queen's Panther - a tribute to the heraldic guardians of Hampton Court Palace. A striking symbol of strength, dignity, and royal authority, the panther was a heraldic badge associated with Queen Jane Seymour, third wife of Henry VIII, and a key figure in securing the Tudor line.
The panther is depicted with flames issuing from its mouth and ears, a traditional sign of its mythical power and noble character. It supports a shield featuring the royal arms of Jane Seymour, marking her place within the intricate tapestry of Tudor heraldry and court symbolism.
Struck in one ounce of 999.9 fine gold, the coin features a beautifully detailed reverse by illustrator David Lawrence, inspired by the stone panther that stands on the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court Palace. This design continues the collection’s celebration of royal heritage, artistry, and the enduring legacy of the Tudor dynasty.
The coin weighs one ounce and is 24-carat (.9999 purity). It is worth noting that as this is classed as British currency, this coin, like many other British coins, is VAT-free and is exempt from Capital Gains Tax (CGT).
