PGA Golf Tour
The first coin collection of the PGA TOUR® was issued as legal tender of the Solomon Islands on the occasion of the victory of the American team at the last Presidents Cup in 2017. The tournament was held on the Liberty National Golf Course in New Jersey with a view over the harbor and Manhattan and was sponsored by the exclusive global partners Rolex, Alfa Romeo and Citi. For the first time in the USA, the three former and
the incumbent US President in the same venue (Clinton, Obama, Trump and GW Bush).
The PGA TOUR® is an American organization that operates the most important golf tournament in the USA. Since the first game in 1994, the Presidents Cup has donated over $ 49 million.
The PGA TOUR® collection includes 500 gold and 1,000 silver coins, each weighing 1.5 ounces (46.65 grams). The precious metal content of 99.99% was shaped by the leading Swiss precious metal refinery PAMP in the highest quality as a “polished plate”. The gold coin has a face value of $ 150, a diameter of 40mm and a thickness of 1.93mm, while the silver coin has a face value of $ 4, a diameter of 50mm and a thickness of 2.26mm.
Both coins have the last official portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the front. All American and international team members are listed on the protective blister, as well as the consecutive numbered certificate of authenticity, the information about the purity and weight of the coin, and the signature of the Swiss precious metal tester, which guarantees the high quality of the coin. On the front of the blister, the flags of the teams and the Statue of Liberty with the skyline of New York are shown. The set is delivered in a beautiful gift box, as are the individual silver coins.
